The abundant underground water from the Northern Alps maintains a temperature of around 13 degrees Celsius throughout the year, making it suitable for wasabi cultivation. Nagano Prefecture is said to be the top producer of wasabi in Japan, with over 90% of it cultivated in Azumino. Visit the wasabi fields and enjoy the true essence of wasabi before it's processed into products.
All transportation is done using electric-assist bicycles from Azumino's shared cycling program, ensuring that anyone can enjoy this sustainable tour. Please note that this tour is not exclusively for cyclists.

8:45 Gather at JR Matsumoto Station (Oshiroguchi/East Exit) → Depart from JR Matsumoto Station at 9:20 → Arrive at JR Hōtaka Station at 9:24 → Cycle for approximately 5 minutes → Arrive at Hōtaka Shrine at 9:45 → Departure at 10:30 → Cycle to Daio Wasabi Farm → Arrive at Daio Wasabi Farm at 11:15 → Explanation about wasabi, followed by lunch (free time) → Departure at 12:45 → Cycle back to JR Hōtaka Station → Arrive at JR Hōtaka Station at 13:00, Tour ends.
For travel towards Matsumoto: Depart from JR Hōtaka Station at 13:30 → Arrive at JR Matsumoto Station at 14:00.
For travel towards Hakuba: Depart from JR Hōtaka Station at 13:46 → Arrive at 14:18 at JR Shinano-Omachi → Depart from JR Shinano-Omachi at 15:09 → Arrive at JR Hakuba Station at 15:50.
