Togakushi Shrine - Okusha
Togakushi Okusha Shrine, set against the backdrop of Mount Togakushi, is dedicated to Ame-no-tajikarao-no-mikoto, the deity said to have opened the celestial rock cave with unmatched divine power. The cedar-lined approach to the shrine has been featured in numerous tourism commercials and posters, making it a representative spot of Shinshu (Nagano). ※The round-trip distance of the approach is approximately 4km.
Togakushi Folk Museum Ninja Trick House
n case of rain or upon guests' request, the visit to Togakushi Shrine Okusha can be changed to the Togakushi Folk Museum Ninja Trick House. (Entrance fee is paid individually) Here, you can enjoy learning about ninja history, exploring the trick house, and even trying your hand at shuriken throwing. ※Please choose between Togakushi Shrine Okusha and the Ninja Trick House.
Togakushi Soba
Togakushi soba is famous nationwide. While it is common to wait in long lines at each restaurant, during our tour, the driver will make a reservation for your seats while you are visiting the Okusha, allowing you to enjoy your meal without the long wait. ※The choice of restaurant will be made on the day in consultation with the driver, taking into account the level of congestion. ※Please note that there may be a wait upon arrival.
Togakushi Shrine - Chusha
Historically a site surrounded by many pilgrim lodges, since the Meiji period, it has gathered faith as a shrine deeply connected to the deities of the Heavenly Rock Cave opening myth. In the vicinity, there are also many shops selling traditional crafts, such as bamboo work. ※Please choose between visiting this shrine or Kagami Pond.
Kagami Pond
Located at an altitude of 1,200 meters, it is a tranquil pond that reflects the Togakushi mountain range like a mirror, showcasing the beauty of each season. The fresh greenery of spring, the cool breeze of summer, and particularly the fiery autumn leaves are spectacularly beautiful. ※Please choose between visiting this pond or Togakushi Shrine - Chusha.
National Treasure - Zenkoji Temple
Zenkoji Temple, holding a history of about 1400 years since its founding, enshrines the Ikko Sanzon Amida Nyorai, said to be the oldest Buddhist statue in Japan. Known as a temple for the people, welcoming everyone without distinction of religious sect, it attracts numerous pilgrims from both within the country and abroad.
Nishinomon Yoshinoya
Located in the outer garden of Zenkoji Temple, Nishinomon Yoshinoya is a complex tourist facility featuring a sake brewery tour and a shop. Visitors can enjoy a variety of tastings, including sake and sweet non-alcoholic sake.
Following the tour, we will provide transportation back to JR Nagano Station or to any accommodation facilities located within 3km of the station.
