Takayama Hot Springs 【Plan No. TA01-04】

Takayama Onsen ― A Hidden Hot Spring Nestled in a Remote Mountain Valley
Takayama Onsen, quietly nestled in the mountains of Northern Shinano, is a hot spring resort that truly offers the charm of a remote, secluded spot. With many natural attractions like the famous Raidaki Waterfall, you can enjoy the changing seasons up close. Soaking in the hot springs while gazing at the abundant nature is truly special. Surrounded by apple orchards and valleys, you can leisurely savor the rural scenery. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a relaxing stay.

National Treasure: Zenkoji Temple【Applicable Plan No. TA01_TA03_TA06】

Zenkō-ji Temple, enshrining the One-Light Trinity Amida Buddha statue said to be Japan's oldest Buddhist image, boasts a history of approximately 1,400 years since its founding. As a temple for the common people, welcoming all without distinction regardless of sect, it attracts numerous visitors from both Japan and abroad.

Takano Tatsuyuki Memorial Museum【Applicable Plan No.TA03_TA04_TA06 _TA07】

This site stands on the former grounds of Nagata Elementary School, successor to Nagae School and Nagata Elementary School where Tatsuyuki Takano once studied and taught. A small stream flows through the grounds, where a bronze statue of Tatsuyuki stands. Inside the museum, exhibits include letters Tatsuyuki wrote to his father, the Elementary School Reader he helped compile, and the Elementary School Songbook. The organ in the music room is open for anyone to play, with sheet music for songs like “Spring Brook” provided.

Ganshoin Temple【Applicable Plan No.TA04_TA07 】

This ancient temple is also associated with Sengoku warlord Masanori Fukushima, artist Katsushika Hokusai, and haiku poet Issa Kobayashi. Within the grounds lie Masanori Fukushima's mausoleum and the Frog Battle Pond, where Issa composed the verse: “Skinny frog, don't lose! Issa is here.” The main hall's large chamber features a 21-mat ceiling painting. This is Katsushika Hokusai's late masterpiece, “Great Phoenix.” Completed over 160 years ago in 1848 (the first year of the Kaei era), Hokusai was 89 years old. The “Great Phoenix” painting, with its powerful presence as if actually dancing across the main hall ceiling, is also called the “Phoenix Gazing in All Directions.” Its sharp eyes seem to stare directly at you, no matter where you view it from.

Hokusai Museum【Applicable Plan No. TA04_TA07】

The Katsushika Hokusai Museum.
Established based on original paintings, sketches, and letters created in Obuse, where he spent his later years.
Here, we exhibit one-of-a-kind pieces such as hanging scrolls, folding screens, and original paintings—distinct from the woodblock-printed nishiki-e.
No two works are alike, making this a precious spot where you can feel the very breath of Hokusai's creativity up close.

Shiozaki Main Store [Applicable Plan No. TA03_TA06]

Established in 1877, this long-established shop is beloved for its traditional Japanese sweets and approachable Western-style confections. Its lineup includes popular signature sweets like the “Nakayama Shinpei Monaka,” whose taste has remained unchanged for 40 years.
