Togakushi Shrine Okusha

Located at the base of Mt. Togakushi, the Okusha (Inner Shrine) is dedicated to Amenotajikarao-no-Mikoto, the deity known for opening the Heavenly Rock Cave with immense strength. The shrine’s approach, lined with centuries-old cedar trees, is one of Nagano’s most iconic sights, often featured in tourism commercials and posters.
Please note: The walking path to and from the shrine is approximately 4 km in total.

Togakushi Soba ((Note: Lunch in Togakushi, including soba, is not included in the tour price.)

Togakushi soba is famous nationwide. While it is common to wait in long lines at each restaurant, during our tour, the driver will make a reservation for your seats while you are visiting the Okusha, allowing you to enjoy your meal without the long wait. ※The choice of restaurant will be made on the day in consultation with the driver, taking into account the level of congestion. ※Please note that there may be a wait upon arrival.

Togakushi Shrine - Chusha (Note: You can choose either Togakushi Shrine or Kagami-ike Pond.)

Historically, this area was home to many temple lodgings, and since the Meiji period, it has been revered as a Shinto shrine closely associated with the deities of the Amano-Iwato (Heavenly Rock Cave) myth. Nearby, you'll find many shops offering traditional crafts such as bamboo work.
Note: You can visit either Togakushi Shrine or Kagami-ike Pond. Please note that access to Kagami-ike may not be possible during periods of heavy congestion.

Kagami Pond(Note: You can choose either Togakushi Shrine or Kagami-ike Pond.)

Located at an altitude of 1,200 meters, it is a tranquil pond that reflects the Togakushi mountain range like a mirror, showcasing the beauty of each season. The fresh greenery of spring, the cool breeze of summer, and particularly the fiery autumn leaves are spectacularly beautiful. ※Please choose between visiting this pond or Togakushi Shrine - Chusha.
